Update your PHP version
Back up first. Then update via your host panel, test, and roll back if a test fails.
1. Back up
Take a full backup of files and database before any change. If your host offers snapshot backups, take one.
2. Update PHP
In your host panel, select a fixed PHP release: 8.5.12, 8.4.27, 8.3.36, or 8.2.35. Save and apply.
3. Test
Test forms, login, checkout, and any key pages. Watch the error log for deprecation notices or fatal errors.
4. Roll back if needed
If a test fails, roll back to the previous PHP version from your backup, then fix the incompatibility before retrying.
